SX80 185t External Stern Thruster

The Side-Power SX80/185T is an external stern thruster for boats that need additional stern control without a standard internal stern thruster installation. It is built around a 185 mm / 7.3 in external stern tunnel format and is listed for 35 to 48 ft vessels.

This bolt on stern thruster is available in 12VDC and 24VDC configurations. It delivers 80 kg / 176 lb of thrust at 10.5VDC or 21VDC, and up to 96 kg / 212 lb at 12VDC or 24VDC. The motor is rated at 6 hp / 4.4 kW and the unit uses on/off control. Minimum battery capacity is listed at 1045 CCA SAE.

The SX80/185T includes features such as ignition protection, a galvanically isolated gearhouse, Q-Prop noise reduction, S-Link and analog compatibility, and IPC protection. Optional stern tunnel cowls are available for twin stern-drive applications. Control panels, remote controls, fuses and harnesses are sold separately.

For vessels with limited internal transom space, the SX80/185T provides an external stern thruster format with defined thrust, voltage and installation requirements.

What is Included? The SX80/185T comes as a pre-assembled thruster unit in a rugged GRP casing. Note: Control panels, remote controls, fuses, and wiring harnesses are sold separately to allow for custom helm configurations.
