Thruster Side-Power SEP100/185T-12V/24V 8HP
SEP100/185T 12V/24V 185mm/7.3″ 8HP
Side-Power 100kg Proportional Speed Control DC Marine Thruster, 12V/24V, Twin 5-blade Props, Sealed Gearleg, 185mm
The Side-Power SEP100/185T is a Side Power SEP100/185T proportional thruster developed for boats that want refined stern maneuvering control while staying on a 12V electrical platform. Designed for tunnel installation, it gives the operator adjustable thrust response during docking, marina handling, and other low-speed maneuvers where fixed on/off thrust can feel abrupt.
This model uses a 185 mm tunnel and produces 100 kg of thrust at 10.5V/21V and 116 kg at 12V/24. Rated at 8.4 HP, it features twin 5-blade propellers, a sealed gearleg, speed control, and hold function. These features work together to provide smoother input and more measured stern movement when precise corrections matter.
-
For the 12V model, the listed fuse requirement is 500A / SMANL500, with 750 CCA DIN / 1425 CCA SAE minimum battery capacity.
-
For the 24V model, which reduces current demand compared with equivalent 12V setups, the listed fuse requirement is 250A / SMANL250, with 400 CCA DIN / 760 CCA SAE minimum battery capacity.

- Built for outstanding performance, you can rely on your Side-Power bow thruster or stern thruster year after year
- Boat builders all over the world are choosing Side-Power for reliability, ease of installation and unrivalled safety features
- This commitment to quality has made the new range of Side-Power thrusters manufactured by Sleipner Motor the market leader
- Performance
- The high performance of a Side-Power thruster is a result of their continuous efforts in product development and testing. propulsion technology know-how 5 bladed composite propellers purpose-built high power electric motors improved water flow from streamlined gearhouse design
-
Safety:
- Side-Power thrusters include several features to ensure the safety of your boat and its passengers
- These features protect against technical and operator errors
- No overheating of electric motor
- Mechanical protection of drive gear
- Electronic protection against sudden change of drive direction
- No accidental operation from child safe on/off and automatic deactivation
- IPC comes standard on all DC electric thrusters hence reducing solenoid wear and the risk of lock in
-
Reliability:
- The quality of a Side-Power thruster is always one step ahead
- In house manufacturing and assembly
- Engineering through experience
- Use of superior materials

-
Installation
- Through their extensive experience and close co-operation with major boat builders we know how important a correct installation is for the thruster system
- Therefore they have made all the preparations to ensure that it is easy to install a Side-Power correctly
- Compact-sized units
- “Plug and Go” Electric wiring
- Easily accessible battery cable terminals
- Fast and safe propeller mounting with locknut
- Professional and solid GRP stern thruster kits
- Easy access zinc anodes
The Speed Controlled Thrusters ( SEP Series ) Features:
- The SEP series are basically SE thrusters with the addition of the DC Power control system
- Providing even more accurate control by fully regulating the power of the thruster as well as providing even longer run times, this is the latest in DC electric thrusters
- The noise reduction and automatic “Hold” function are further benefits provided by the SEP series
- Powerful single speed thrusters can, in light weather conditions, be a bit difficult to use as they push the boat too fast
- The solution is to fit the new Sidepower DC Power Controller which enables proportional speed control of a DC electric thruster
- By also controlling the thruster’s power, you get even more precise handling of the boat in all conditions
- Another great advantage is that when you run the thruster at less than full power, the usable run time is extended, with close to continuous usage being possible when you are running the thruster at less than 50% of full power (percentage of thrust with continuous duty depending on thruster model)
