Designed for totally automatic, unattended operation. All you have to do is set the front-panel switch to “automatic”, and the Sentry charger takes over. As the battery approaches full charge, the Sentry’s ferro-resonant transformer gradually tapers back the charging current. Then the charger turns itself completely off until it’s needed again. When it’s off, it’s completely off.
Sentry SFR-series chargers are available in a wide range of 12V, 24V and 32V models, with output current ranging from 20 to 60 amps. Standard input power is 115 or 230 VAC power. Models are available for 50/60 Hz operation. A manual/automatic selector switch, ammeter, full charge and power indicator are conveniently located on the front panel.

It monitors all battery banks. Whenever it senses a drop in voltage level in any of them, the charger comes on instantly, matching its output precisely to the load on your DC system.

There’s absolutely no output trickle to overcharge and dehydrate, damage or warp your batteries’ cell plates. If the charger is on when you start your engines, the Sentry shuts itself off automatically as soon as you turn on the ignition.
A manual override function is provided to give you extra help in cranking the engines on weak batteries.
Sentry battery chargers are available in 12 V, 24 V and 32 V models, with output current ranging from 20 to 60 amps. Standard input power is 115 or 23OV, 60 Hz AC power. Models are also available for 23OV, 50 Hz, and certain models can be ordered for automatic switchover between 50 and 6O Hz power supplies.
Standard Sentry units have negative ground with triple output, permitting up to three separate banks of batteries to be charged simultaneously. A fourth output is available as an option on most models.
A manual/automatic selector switch and ammeter are conveniently located on the front panel, along with AC input fuses, DC circuit breakers, DC fuses and indicator lights. An optional remote panel is also available. It may be ordered with the standard unit or added later.
The Sentry switchmode chargers are designed for unattended operation. When current is requested or the battery needs charging, the Sentry SM charger responds with the required output. The three-step charger brings your battery up to full charge very quickly. When the battery reaches a “float” condition, output is reduced to match that requested by the battery. The unit also acts as a power supply to operate your 12/24 volt systems directly, should the need arise.

The Sentry SM chargers can be set for 115 or 230 VAC operation with a simple internal adjustment. They can accommodate switchover. The chargers can work efficiently with low supply voltages and poor-quality AC waveforms from operators. An easy manual switch is used to select output for gel cell or lead acid batteries. Most Sentry SM models offer three independent outputs for charging three separate battery banks simultaneously. The 12V, 10 and 20 amp models provide two outputs.
The Sentry SM chargers are built to ABYC and UL standards and are CE certified for export to Europe. The units will not affect other onboard electronics. They are designed with protection against over temperature, short circuit and reversed polarity, and are equipped with input and output fuses. They are ignition protected and current limited.
Operating the Sentry SM charger couldn’t be easier. You turn it on and leave it on. That’s all. Convenient front panel indicators give a readout of system status. An optional remote indicator panel is also available for mounting outside the engine room.
The optional battery voltage indicator gives you an easy to real LED bargraph showing battery status. The microprocessor based Battery Supervisor provides a digital display of temperatures, battery voltages, alarms and other useful information for up to three banks of batteries.
